nous avons eu un "mémorial service" à Paris pour Tom, 
avec 5 membres de la famille Shortell dont son épouse Betsy, leurs 2 fils Thomas JR, André et ses deux filles, voir ci-dessous:

-          Date and time : Monday, May 26th, 2014, 6PM

-          Location : Eglise des Dominicains, 222, rue du Faubourg St. Honoré, Paris 8ième

-          Co-celebrating: Père Christophe et Père Ephrem (Dominicain)

-          Content and religious aspects of the service : to be firmed up in the weeks to come. Family input ever so welcome.

Dear friends and ex-colleagues,

Our friend and dear ex-colleague Tom Shortell passed away on Monday morning at 6:00 am in Washington DC. About a week ago he was taken to hospital with pneumonia. After a week of treatment, antibiotics had no further effect. His son André told me Tom died peacefully. His whole family was present.

The funeral mass is on Monday the 3rd of March in Washington DC and will be followed by a burial in Upper Marlboro.

I have been talking to Simon Riggall, Tom’s deputy from the days when we were all together in Paris. We are thinking of having a memorial service for Tom in Paris, end of April, beginning of May. Former colleagues and friends of Tom will be welcome to attend the memorial service. Further details will follow once we have been able to submit the idea to the family for their consent.
